Coming to your first club session at Pinkston?
If you are coming along to a club night at Pinkston watersports for the first time, here’s what you need to know:
- You don’t need to join the club to come along for the first time. You can come along to 3 sessions to see if you think it’s for you before becoming a member.
- You do need to book and pay for the session you are attending. Click on the date and session on the calendar to book your space.
- What to wear? We can provide wetsuits, helmet, boat, paddle, buoyancy aid and spray decks (if you don’t know what is, you will soon…) You should bring along trainers or neoprene shoes you don’t mind getting wet, a towel and anything else you would need if you get wet.

Membership categories
- Full membership – £50 per year – allows participation in all club activities for members 18 and over.
- Youth membership – £20 per year – for members under 18. 16 and 17 year olds may participate in all club activities. Members under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is a club member, except for specific youth activities, currently only the flat water racing youth group. As space for new members is sometimes limited, please contact us for information for under 18s before applying. Monthly training fees also apply.
- Non-paddling membership – £5 per year – allows participation in club activities not including actual paddling. Recommended especially for parent helpers at youth sessions, non-paddling members are covered for third party liability under the SCA’s insurance while participating in club activities.
Membership runs from January to December each year. If you are joining later in the year an appropriate discount will be applied.
Boat storage is available for members at our boat shed in the west end of Glasgow. Annual charges are as follows
- River boat – £35
- Sea kayak – £50
- Open canoe – £65 (£50 stored outside)
A very limited amount of storage for members river boats (or polo boats) is available at Pinkston for £50. Please enquire.
