Hi there,

I'm virtually a total newbie (bar 2 or 3 sessions over the last few years), but I'm keen to try it out. Going to try and bring the missus along as well! I'll come along to your pool sessions when I'm back in Glasgow (I'm in China until early October), but in the meantime I have a question:

I don't have any equipment at the moment. I understand that the kit you have is free to use in the pool sessions, but what is the charge for hiring kit for outdoor excursions? I don't have a car either, but I am I right in guessing that you guys chip in for transport together for outdoor trips?

Cheers!
Jonny

Hi Johnny, sorry for the delayed reply.

At the pool sessions you will be provided with boats, paddles and spray decks - you are obviously required to bring your own clothing for the session i.e. shorts and t-shirt.  For outdoor trip we will provide the said eqpt, cag (kayaking jacket) and have a limited amount of wet suits to borrow.  We do not charge members for the borrowing of gear or kayaks.  Membership is only 30£ p/a so a great investment really.  A few of us drive so there are lifts available, generally on a 1st come 1st service.  We can tell you more at the pool sessions which are a great way to get started.

Cheers

Andy

The nights are fair drawin in - would anybody like to make the most of whats left of the evening light for some rescue practice on the loch one evening?
Or if anybody wants to jump on the train to Helensburgh (50mins from Q Street) we could use the club boat here.

I'm not going to make the full trip either but would love to get out for a day trip. I can do either day.

I can't spare two days this weekend but could do a day trip (either day). Suggest we keep this post for a daytrip and Seans separate post for anyone who fancies the seil weekend.

Anyone else interested in a day trip, which day is preferred?
